LA-based Citizens of Humanity launched in the early noughts, with the goal of bringing luxury designer jeans to a global market. Made with at least 50% lyocell and recycled cotton. Lyocell is made from plant cellulose and while chemicals are used in its production, it is a closed-loop process, meaning that chemicals can be extracted and waste water reused. Recycled cotton reduces waste, uses fewer natural resources and has a lower environmental impact.'
