Rene Caovilla’s Cleo sandals have been a style icon since 1975 – they've even been exhibited at the MoMA.
They're handmade from beige satin and feature crystal-strewn bombè straps that coil around the ankles.
A success story that started at the dawn of the twentieth century with pioneer Edoardo Caovilla who took a road that was halfway between craftsmanship and couture, with the vision and audacity to amaze the world. In the fifties his son René Fernando (born in 1938) developed his own inspiration by moving towards art and experimenting with a transversal approach.
