Dolce & Gabbana’s yellow mini dress is adorned with a charming camellia print evocative of the house’s rich Italian heritage – the flower was imported into Italy in the 18th century, placed in the Royal Palace of Caserta, north of Naples. It’s crafted from silk organza to a caped silhouette with a gathered skirt and lined with a yellow silk-blend slip. Note the cursive logos which are intertwined within the botanical pattern.
Think Sicilian lace, hourglass silhouettes and a big dose of grandezza, and you have the most glamorous of fashion houses: Dolce & Gabbana. Launched in 1985, the label offers a fresh perspective on Italian heritage, modelled on the designers’ idea of the Mediterranean woman – strong, feminine, exuberant. As seen in Harper’s Bazaar, Grazia and many others.
