This season sees the COS womenswear team experiment with cut and proportion. Case in point, this modern wool bolero jacket takes inspiration from classic tailoring with its angled chest welt pocket and functioning buttoned cuffs. Design details include the central back seam and two-piece sleeves, while the cropped length and open front lend themselves to layering over a bustier, shirt or dress.
A brand whose aesthetic has been so influential that it’s hard to remember what went before. But when COS launched in 2007 against a backdrop of fast, trend-led fashion, its focus on minimal pieces at accessible prices was a breakthrough moment. With a focus on style over trend, it heralded a new era for interesting, modern, considered design and changed our wardrobes for the better, forever.
